What is a Ghoul?

Ghoul is a term used to describe a minion created when a vampire gives a bit of vampiric vitae to a mortal without draining them of blood first, which would instead result in the Embrace.

Feed just about any living creature a little vampire blood and it becomes a Ghoul, at least temporarily. Ghouls are servants, easily created, and heavily abused - although networks do exist to assist them in escaping their masters. A ghoul’s emotions run to extremes with the heady drug of vitae in their veins, not to mention the Blood Bond — such a creature often falls prey to great rages and disturbing cravings. The name “ghouls” was not chosen at random.

Becoming a Ghoul

After a vampire feeds their Vitae to another creature, they become a ghoul, granting a few benefits: The aging process halts, sometimes even reverting slightly; limited access to disciplines and faster healing. However, Ghouls are dependent on the Blood, as they will revert to their true age when denied access, sometimes fatally. Its control is the primary way that ghouls are managed by their domitors, through the Blood Bond — in addition to more traditional techniques like Dominate. The nastiest part of being a ghoul, of course, is that one is a slave to an inhuman monster that treats humans as chesspieces or the occasional light snack.

As a Ghoul

You are a being that treads the line between mortal and immortal, your body kept in stasis by the unholy vitae granted by your domitor. Unlike a normal human, you gain access to a sampling of the powers that true Kindred wield in the form of the first level of your domintor's clan's disciplines. These use the precious vitae that maintain your ghoul condition, so extensive use isn't advised in all but the most dire circumstances.

Your goal is to serve your Domitor, a term used to describe the master that supplies you with more of that all-encompassing and addicting vitae. You are to follow their orders and carry out their will. As a result drinking their vitae, they are also considered your Regnant as you gain a powerful Blood Bond towards them. This Blood Bond will drastically affect your emotions towards them, twisting them into the closest approximation of what your character perceives as loving someone above all-else to be like.
